56th Season of Horn in the West

June 20-August 16, 2008

One of the Nation's oldest Revolutionary War dramas, portrays the lives of pioneers who braved the wilderness to settle in the Blue Ridge Mountains seeking freedom from British tyranny.

Nestled into the hillside, lies a theatre built in 1952. Horn in the West takes place at the Daniel Boone Amphitheater, in Boone, N.C.  Shows are Tuesday-Sunday, 8pm.

Celebrating Appalachian Culture

Music performances ranging from bluegrass to classical to celtic to folk.  All summer concerts start at 8pm and are held at the Blowing Rock School Auditorium, except for the Labor Day celebration, which will be held at the Hayes Performing Arts Center.

Sugar Mountain Resort's Summer Season Begins Friday, July 4th

Chairlift rides to Sugar's 5,300 foot peak runs throughout summer weekends until August 31st and again on October 11th and 12th.

Scenic rides are available Saturdays and Sundays from 10am till 5:30pm.

For Mountain Biking Enthusiasts, the lifts have hooks to carry bikes to the top of Sugar Mountain.  Miles of biking and hiking trails intertwine throughout the Village of Sugar Mountain.

Lift rides are $10 for one time, $22 for an all day ticket.  Kids 4 and under are free with an adult.  Groups of 20 or more may purchase one-time ride tickets for $5.
